How long does it take to get a passport?

Once I fill out all the paperwork to get a passport how long do I have to wait before I actually have it in my hands and I can travel. How long does it take to get all that paperwork done anyway?

My last one took about 2 weeks, but you can pay extra and it gets done within about 3 days

It is not the getting a passport that is difficult. It is all the paperwork that you need to get in to order that is the hard part. Get yourself a checklist of what you will need.

They tell you it takes about 10 days but I think it depends on the time of year. I got mine in 7 so they must not have been busy. But yeah if you can prove it is an emergency it is 3 days flat.
